Setting up the site

Hi everyone,

I'm scrambling to get this group up and running. You'll see below I'm experimenting with some Twitter aggregators, and hope to settle on the most efficient system in the next few hours. @johntynan of KJZZ public radio is working with me to get some twitter accounts up and running, so twitter users can receive gustav news, alerts, blog posts, etc via twitter as well. I've also added a Flickr stream of content tagged gustav to the left.

More info soon; I'll be able to concentrate more on this once I can get my two-year-old to bed in a couple of hours.

Thanks so much for setting up the site this is a great resource! I'm so excited to see so many people using it and really showing how Social Networks can be used to be a resource for Reporters and the General Public. Awesome Job :)

Try to find out if there are any Windows media streams that you can get. You can then place them on extra pages within the network to stream live on the network. If you need help with that, I can show you.

great idea, Andy. Would be helpful to try to syndicate / aggregate directly what reporters on the Gulf Coast are reporting so all goes live ASAP. I'm off the grid for a bit but will be brainstorming and happy to help out.
