Some people have posted comments or discussions on the site that have had nothing to do with coordinating volunteer activities around Hurricane Gustav. Anyone who uses the site to spam us or hijack the project will be banned from the site. Thanks to the work of John Tynan of KJZZ public radio in Phoenix, we now have the start of a Gustav Alert on twitter. It's called GustavAlerts, and it'll be used to automatically send out government weather alerts related to Gustav. Right now it's just got one feed, and it needs tweaking, but we'll add more to it tomorrow as well. Continue

Hi everyone, I'm scrambling to get this group up and running. You'll see below I'm experimenting with some Twitter aggregators, and hope to settle on the most efficient system in the next few hours. @johntynan of KJZZ public radio is working with me to get some twitter accounts up and running, so twitter users can receive gustav news, alerts, blog posts, etc via twitter as well.
