What should be on the home page? Some feeds are now giving errors.
The StormPulse Map is new but it doesn't fit well in our small window. Should we go back to the Google mash-up from http://crescentmaps.org/hurricanes/ike.html? Should we try to get a feed from Weather Underground or some other place? Should the map be unique - something you can't find anywhere else? Do we even need a storm map on the front page.

Should we try to create more original material, focus on summarizing and reorganizing data from other sites, or just have feeds and links to other sites?

What should we display during the off season?

Thinking outloud:

Is this a good time to reserve domain name hurricanes09.org?

HIC Ning/wiki could be meta sites for hurricane related information between hurricane seasons. By indexing and ranking the best online resources for hurricanes survivors, visitors could have one place to start a search.

Post hurricane activity involves matching survivors with resources for months to years.
Examples of these volunteer activities can be found at:

Thinking like a city water asset manager: Where are the city's assets and what do they need to be made more useful to the public? Ideally, a big anunciator display shows where every water main is located, where the leaks are, where the water levels and flows are above normal and below normal.
