Need feedback asap of what we should put here. Obvious stuff includes widgets for major info sources (twitter, google news, etc,) widgets of user-generated content tagged gustav, links to donation and volunteer sources (including phone #s), official govt alerts, etc. What else? Any thoughts on how to organize it?

Here's what I did in 2005 for Katrina, if it'll help us brainstorm:

Hi everyone,

I want to restart the wiki conversation here, as we need to figure out the most strategic way to proceed.

Can you please clarify whether this page is where the general public will get their information, or will the wiki be the source?

I think this format is better, IMHO.

The answer is both. The wiki will pull together static information - lists of links, phone numbers, etc, while this will be for dynamic info - news feeds, discussions, user content widgets, etc. During Katrina and the tsunami we learned that we needed both to do the job right.

Found a guy on twitter that is willing to shelter someone in his home. You may want to add a space where people can connect to volunteers willing to host a family.

we'll probably direct people to craigslist and couchsurfing.com for these things, since they have the infrastructure for it.

We tried to use jazzy's twitter widget and it broke our homepage, destroying our previous twitter widget in the process. :-(

Andy, could an admin put up some easy navigation links on the sidebar to important pages - eg. wiki, mobile, twitterfeed, scanner transcription etc. They're getting lost as the discussion forums grow somehow.

Just created a box in the top left of the homepage. Will start a separate forum thread about what should be added there.
